We are disconnected from the Earth. Period! Remember when you were a kid and you ran barefoot during summer vacations on the grass or better yet on the sand? Some scientists think that a simple act of touching the Earth can be healing.
Earth is the biggest magnet and for centuries people have been in direct contact with the earth’s surface till rubber shoes were invented. Here is an interesting quote from one of the supporters of this theory: “One of the major benefits of Earthing is that it appears to assuage inflammation through the transfer of negatively-charged electrons from the surface of the Earth into the body (where the electrons neutralize positively-charged destructive free radicals involved in chronic inflammation).” What’s interesting is that I was a little girl back in Russia ages ago, my parents read a lot about importance of our feet touching the earth and how it neutralizes our personal magnetic field. We read how in age of technological advances like TV in each home and different appliances, we need to restore our balance by standing on earth surface. That was 1970s!!! Now we have iPhones and microwaves and lot lots more and if this theory is correct, we need it more than ever. Some scientists would support this and some would not. I say, what have we got to lose by trying? If you got yourself a clean patch of grass, or a sandy beach in your back yard, go ahead and try it – doesn’t cost a thing.
